York University in Toronto invites applications for a
postdoctoral visitor
position to join a team lead by Dr. Laurence Harris including
Professors Robert
Allison and Michael Jenkin measuring perceptual changes
associated with
long-term space flight. We are seeking a post-doctoral visitor
to assist in a Canadian
Space Agency-sponsored project concerning the relationship
between perceived
self-motion and perceived tilt in microgravity. There may also
be a potential to
be involved in our CFREF-funded VISTA project.
Expected responsibilities
Conducting psychophysical experiments with astronauts and
control groups.
Project management (participant recruiting, dealing with CSA and
NASA
paperwork)
Preparing and communicating findings in posted reports and
peer-reviewed
publications

Basic requirements
PhD in Perceptual Psychology or related discipline
Competence in programing in Python, Matlab, and Unity would be
an asset.
Experience in space-related research would be an asset
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Start date: ASAP
Stipend:  $60,000
(annual) plus benefits,
one year with a possibility of renewal.
