The Proaction Laboratory (http://ift.tt/1qDGyEA; Jorge Almeida’s Lab) at the University of Coimbra (www.uc.pt), Portugal is looking for a motivated and bright researcher for a project
on memory enhancement in the elderly through neuromodulation. This is an
ongoing project where we explore how neurostimulation can impact performance in
memory tasks in a healthy elderly population. The project involves the use of
fMRI, and tDCS, and is funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation and
The position is for 6 months, and starts in June/July. The salary is
competitive for the cost of living in Portugal (and particularly in Coimbra) –
the researcher will earn 980 euros per month, tax free, plus social security
(around the average salary in Portugal). Good understanding of and experience
with fMRI data analysis is required (Volumetric analysis, functional
connectivity, Defaul mode network analysis, cortical thickness, General Linear
Models. Any software would be ok, but preference is given to BrainVoyager).
Experience in using matlab is also a requirement. Good English (oral and
written) communicative skills are necessary.
The University of Coimbra is a
700 year old University and has been selected as a UNESCO world Heritage site.
Coimbra is one of the most lively university cities in the world, and it is a
beautiful city with easy access to the beach and mountain.
