[visionlist] Postdoctoral positions at Indiana University: Egocentric Vision

Linda Smith, Chen Yu, and David Crandall are inviting applications for post-doctoral research fellowships at Indiana University.  We are seekingambitious young researchers to join us in the study  of early visualenvironments and egocentric vision, especially as they relate to thedevelopment of visual object recognition and early object name learning.  Wehave a collected over 500 hours of home head camera (and audio) data ininfants from 3 weeks to 24 months to understand the statistical structure ofnatural visual environments and how they change with development.   There areimportant open questions in low level and high level visual statistics,object name correspondences, and experiences of specific object categoriessuch as faces, hands, people, and objects.  Please see http://ift.tt/2nRKRRb recent work on this project.We have funds to hire two fellows who could define their own projects(including new data collection) depending on their area of expertise andinterests.  Applicants with interests in early object name learning,  visualand perceptual development, the role of sensory-motor development inperception,  visual object recognition, natural visual statistics, machinelearning,  machine vision and egocentric vision are invited to apply.Indiana University Bloomington provides a strong intellectual environment ofcollaboration across disciplines and applicants will receive  substantivecareer mentoring and support for independent research and professionaldevelopment.  This postdoc position is for 2-3 years dependent on yearlyevaluations.How to apply:  Review of applications will begin immediately and continueuntil filled.
