OVERVIEW

The qualified individual will be responsible for hands-on technology research and development of algorithms and software for proprietary hardware neural network engine(s), deep-learning-based systems and experimental imaging devices.

Deep learning algorithms and systems may include state-of-the-art image/object recognition, localization, segmentation, image/video understanding, speech understanding, automotive driving assistance, simultaneous localization and mapping and various others.

Algorithms for proprietary hardware neural network engine may include experimental studies of statistical properties of deep learning processing to facilitate their implementation in hardware, associated training, various network transforms and other relevant research and development.

Development environments mainly include Linux, Python, C, NVIDIA GPUs and various popular deep learning tools including Caffe.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

– Technology development and implementation of software for hardware deep learning engine

– Technology development and implementation of deep-learning-based systems and algorithms

– Technology development and implementation of state-of-the-art prototype experimental imaging cameras, image processing algorithms including color and 3D

– Analysis, debug and in-depth evaluation of algorithm performance including statistical analysis of results

– Documentation and reporting of results

– Making patent disclosures

– Research paper publications when appropriate

REQUIRED SKILLS

• PhD degree in CS, EE or related engineering area

• Proficiency in classical machine learning, statistics

• Proficiency in deep learning techniques for neural networks

• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Matlab, Linux, Caffe

• Strong ability to debug software, prototypes, algorithms, experiments

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Must be a quick learner

• Must be motivated and able to work without supervision

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Proficiency in software development for NVIDIA CUDA, deep learning toolkits including TensorFlow, Torch, Nervana Neon and similar

• Proficiency in software development for embedded Linux, DSP, Microsoft Visual Studio, Android and/or iOS

• Experience with OpenCV, OpenMP, OpenCL

• Familiarity with semiconductor physics, optics, digital and analog electronic design

• Understanding of consumer imaging including 3D and color
