[visionlist] Announcing the recipient of the AVA David Marr medal for 2018




Every two years, the AVA invites nominations for the David Marr medal, which recognizes the achievements of an outstanding vision scientist in the early part of his or her research
career. The award is named in memory of one of the United Kingdom’s most distinguished vision researchers.

The AVA Executive Committee is very pleased to announce that: 

·      for her
pioneering studies of visual perception, particularly in colour vision, as well as individual differences and spatial information processing, using a combination of psychophysical and genetic methods to explore
the function and biological basis of the human visual system, the AVA has decided to award the Marr medal for 2018 to Dr Jenny Bosten,
a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology, University of Sussex.

Dr Bosten has been invited to receive the award and to give a keynote lecture, which will be on the topic of: 

“Calibrating colour perception to visual environments”

at the upcoming AVA Xmas conference, 17 December 2018.
